About Me: the Sarah Day of Made by Day

Sarah Day, once an art history professor, found herself navigating the wild and wonderful world of motherhood with four young children. Amid the endless cycles of laundry, dishes, and school schedules, Sarah craved a creative outlet—something that could breathe life and joy back into her daily routine.

Initially, she turned to her sewing machine, tackling quick projects and even ambitious quilting ventures. But with little ones darting around, these larger projects became more stress than solace. She wondered, *What will my children remember about their mom?* Would it be her joy, her creativity, her ability to create beauty amidst the chaos? Or would it be a tired woman glued to her phone, feeling overwhelmed?

In search of something more meaningful—and portable—Sarah discovered the art of hand embroidery. This quiet, hands-on craft gave her the creative fulfillment she longed for, even as life bustled around her. But as she explored the hand embroidery world, she was struck by the amount of sarcasm and snark woven into many modern designs. For Sarah, each stitch held significance, a chance to create something timeless and meaningful. *If I’m going to spend hours creating something,* she thought, *I want it to uplift, to inspire.*

So, Sarah began creating designs inspired by her love of literature and her faith—pieces that speak to hope, joy, and light. Her embroidery kits at Made by Day are crafted to bring beauty to your home, to uplift your spirit, and to fill those quiet moments with purpose. Whether you’re a busy mom, a creative entrepreneur, or anyone seeking positivity in your own life, Made by Day offers designs that inspire and bring warmth to your world, one stitch at a time.
